What you get

A far-infrared sauna blanket you zip yourself into, lying down. It has nine heat levels up to 80°C, a 60-minute auto shut-off, a wipe-clean outer and a washable cotton insert. At 350 W it costs only pennies a session, and it folds flat to slide under a bed.

It takes under a minute to set up and fits 1 person, lying down. Only 350 W: cheapest to run here, and washable cotton insert included. On the downside: you lie down rather than sit.

The heat

You lie inside and zip it up. Infrared panels in the blanket warm you directly, and the temperature setting is for the blanket itself, so it feels gentler than sitting in a hot tent. Most people use one for 30 to 45 minutes, with a towel or cotton liner inside.

Running costs

The AuraCore Pro blanket is rated at 350 W. Running at full power for 30 minutes uses 0.17 kWh, which is 5p a session at 26.32p per kWh (Ofgem price cap, Oct to Dec 2026), or about £8 a year at three sessions a week. It will usually cost less, because the heater cycles on and off once it is hot. Work out your own cost.

Buy it if

Space is tight and you are happy lying down.
