What you get
The sauna blanket that made the category popular. It is made from non-toxic, waterproof polyurethane, with far-infrared heating layered with charcoal, clay and crystals, and low EMF. It feels well finished, but it costs more than three ThermoLab blankets.
It takes under a minute to set up and fits 1 person, lying down. Premium materials and finish, and low EMF. On the downside: £699 is a lot for a blanket.
The heat
You lie inside and zip it up. Infrared panels in the blanket warm you directly, and the temperature setting is for the blanket itself, so it feels gentler than sitting in a hot tent. Most people use one for 30 to 45 minutes, with a towel or cotton liner inside.
Running costs
HigherDOSE does not publish the power use for the HigherDOSE blanket. Most portable saunas use between 350 W and 1,500 W, which works out at roughly 5p to 20p for a 30-minute session at today’s prices. Check the label on the heater and use our running-cost calculator.
