What you get

A folding, head-out infrared sauna box from a long-running UK infrared brand. Your head stays outside, which many people find more comfortable, and it heats to 65°C on 900 W. It folds to 13 cm thick and weighs 10 kg.

It takes about 5 minutes to set up and fits 1 person, head out. Head stays out: easier to breathe, and no steam, no damp. On the downside: head-out design feels less like a sauna.

The heat

Infrared panels warm your body directly rather than heating the air, so it feels gentler than steam even at a similar temperature. Your head stays outside the box, which many people find easier, and there is no condensation to deal with.

Running costs

The Firzone Oxyplus is rated at 900 W. Running at full power for 30 minutes uses 0.45 kWh, which is 12p a session at 26.32p per kWh (Ofgem price cap, Oct to Dec 2026), or about £19 a year at three sessions a week. It will usually cost less, because the heater cycles on and off once it is hot. Work out your own cost.
